What sets me apart form other performing artists is the amount of energy I have. I feel its important to share this with others because this healing energy is there to feed the world, especially that we need it more than ever.
Rain, sleet or the Chicago's third worst blizzard didn't stop me from dancing. There's a special story behind this video and I will share it when we meet.
Working in a group setting can be challenging. With the right motivation I can teach others how to create something POWERFUL! This was a group collaborative, Chi-Caribena Dance Troupe. The dancers learned my choreography and learned how to build their own costumes.

During these unprecedented times, we are challenged by what we are seeing in our great city of Chicago and all around the world. Despite having to move forward through this, our energies are stagnant and this is impacting socialization and productivity. Dance is healing work because creative movement charges the body, releases that fear and tension, increases natural chemicals throughout the body which fights depression and anxiety while also creating connection, especially during community workshops like this.
Through our GBD workshops, we hope to find that joy and release, while introducing new music from around the world. We close out our journey healing our community with music by Daniel Hughes from Miach Healing Arts.

We had our first workshop of the year. Attendees opened their heart and shared their souls to movement and dance to music from around the world and healing with Miach Healing Arts during our 2 hour exploration of movement.

Our next workshop is on March 29, 2026! We will continue movement exploration and community healing at Kuumba Lynx Healing and Arts with new world music!
Here is a little snippet of our 2/22 Event at Kuumba Lynx, in Uptown neighborhood in Chicago, IL.. Some of the attendees brought flow props to the workshop. We all were able to unleash our inner child and play! and move! Daniel provided some wonderful healing with his powerful sound journey.
